Spring

Its getting warm again and we are anticipating going out on the trails. I am taking Jack for a walking ride today to start getting his pony hay belly back in some sort of shape before the season truly opens up. Aaron came back from Phoenix and is working in his own store. He likes it so far and looks forward to being number 1 in his district. We also decided to get a little girl for our Bean, her name is currently pup pup. I know what your thinking and yes we will be changing it shortly. Shes a Jack Russell Terrier and hopefully it will be a fit. Certain dogs take more training to understand that they cant eat or chase the chickens or run under the horses legs. . I posted some more photos below of Aaron and Beanie. They are both so handsome together.

Snow

So far this year we have had little snow, it came all at once and then didnt visit again. Until now, we had days and days of 50+ degree weather, and then out of know where, 3 ft of snow is on the ground in the last 2 days and its going to continue all day tomorrow and then come back on and off til March. I am so over it, its freezing and I am sick of shoveling the drive way. My horses are over it too, they get wild when it snows and feel the need to run everywhere. I will take some pictures of them in their winter coats tomorrow and post them here for you all to see.

Therapeutic riding

While we were in Corpus Christi, I worked at a barn that offered therapeutic riding. I also massaged some of the horses there. I missed this so much I decided to look for a barn here in the area to volunteer with. And of course there is nothing. So Ive decided to get certified to teach and offer it at my own place. My Arab/Cob Jack is perfect for it, and he will be learning to drive this spring so that will make him even more well rounded. I have a 7yr old boy with Aspergers coming to visit the horses for therapy soon. I love working with my own kind and am very excited to take on this new endeavor.

Nmir

Well we havent found Nmir his forever home, but we did find him a rider for the time being. She just retired her Arabian at the age of 24, he was with her for 19 yrs. She competed him in everything successfully and is now here in Flagstaff for school. So shes taking Nmir under her wing in order to keep her horse obsession active and hes going to get a proper schooling. Hes already in shock from her schooling. Poor thing never had to do much in the way of training, but its great for his mind. We will start trail riding this month since its been getting warmer. Then well stop and wait for the Flagstaff wind to pass through. Im so over it.

Were moving again

Aaron has taken a position with Petsmart, a far cry from Kohls and thank god because he was miserable. Hes on a fast track program, so in about 6-12 months hes going to be promoted. For those of you who dont know, Aaron gets promoted every 6-12 months anyway, so this is right on target for him. Its been his goal all along, so hes very excited. I just cant wait to move somewhere warm in the winter, and be able to ride more than 6 months out of the year. He might end up in Phoenix at the corporate head quarters shortly, but hopefully not permantly. Its hotter than holy hell in Phoenix and riding during the summer is out of the question. Sam is going to be 4 in April and hes so big, he was just getting taller for a while there and we didnt know if he was ever going to fill out. Well he did all in the last 6 months, hes got quite the frame on him. I will post new photos soon.
